Hi,=20
Thought some of you may be interested in this project.=20
We were invited to work over six weeks with the Sahara Older Asian =
Women's=20
Group. This is very much a social group and there was to be a visit=20
somewhere (Safar means journey) We had to have a learning experience in =
there so it was proposed that they would take digital images of their=20
journey and we would create a web diary)=20
On week one they all went to Albert Park for a practice journey and =
equipped
with seven digital cameras of various shapes and sizes our 30 =
photographers=20
took loads of pictures.=20
On week two they came to the CIRA UK Online Centre and I showed them =
how=20
Adobe Photoshop Elements could magically create a web photo gallery.=20
They were so keen to see these images that they had to get to grips =
with=20
pointing and clicking pretty sharpish in order to enjoy their pictures. =
That
until it was time for tea and sarnies (I told you they were a social =
group!)
On week three we created the "Fun" pages. A bit more risqu=E9 but they =
had a=20
laugh messing around with each others faces (digitally)=20
Week 4 was the trip to Newcastle and off they went, having a whale of a =
time
by all accounts.=20
Today we let Photoshop do it's magic but this time they added some of =
their=20
own words to the pages using MS Word. And then of course tea and =
sarnies=20
Next week is the launch of their web diary and I'm sure they would be=20
delighted if you were to visit and sign their guestbook.=20
