Hi Steve
I have been working on several large database projects using ZOPE/Plone
rather than MySQL/PHP. Mainly driven by security reasons and the need
to handle multi media data.

http://www.colacace.com.au/ this is one example of a ZOPE/Plone portal
linked to a Adult Learning Centre in rural Victoria. I work with the
developer of this site and it is now run by the community of users.
This part of the portal may interest you
http://www.colacace.com.au/media/

I am currently project managing the development of a portal for all
online learning professionals in the State of Victoria (about 2700).
http://source.tafevc.com.au
This is a very complex community with different levels of access and
permissions on the workflow. This was delivered in 4 weeks from first
brief to launch.

Two specific ZOPE/Plone projects that are focused on the arts that I am
aware of are Artssync http://www.artsynconline.com/ in Queensland.

L.O.B.S.T.E.R-The Local Online Band Site Total Electronic Resource
(Lobster)
is a Melbourne based community project, created by unemployed musicians
mainly as a resource to build up the local music scene and make bands,
people, facts, figures and industry tips simple to access.
http://www.lobstermusic.net.au/ Again I know the developers on this
project

These last two sites don't have the "plone" look of tabs but are quite

I hope this helps I will be in the UK later in September may be we can
talk then.

Ken

Not sure if this is the place to post this so feel free to circulate.

Beginning a new project for which we need a sophisticated database
driven
website with content managed easily by non techies. PHP and MySQL spring
to
mind. The ethos of the project can be found here
http://www.cira.org.uk/tvo_prop.htm

Please consider this as a very informal opener but we will shortly be
inviting tenders for the work. We have a design spec which I will send
interested parties when the time is right. As shortlisted parties will
be
expected to present their pitch at the University Of Teesside I would
imagine this is only suitable for UK based Companies.
